Het kan handig zijn om je e-mail account bij Surver niet via de webmail te beheren, maar te koppelen aan een bestaand Gmail account. Je webmail bij Surver wordt dan om de 20 minuten door Google gesynchroniseerd en toegevoegd aan je Gmail inbox. Natuurlijk is het ook mogelijk om vanuit Gmail mails te versturen.

In deze handleiding leggen we je graag uit hoe je een webmail account bij Surver kunt instellen in Gmail.We gaan ervan uit dat je al een mailadres hebt aangemaakt bij Surver en dat je de inloggegevens gecontroleerd hebt door in te loggen op de webmail omgeving https://webmailsecure.com

Benodigde gegevens

Onderstaande gegevens heb je sowieso nodig voor het toevoegen van je mailaccount aan Gmail:

Inkomende mailserver: mail.domeinnaam.nl of myfasthosting.email
Uitgaande mailserver:mail.domeinnaam.nl of myfasthosting.email
Gebruikersnaam: Je e-mailadres.
Wachtwoord: Je e-mail wachtwoord
Protocol: IMAP
Poort inkomende e-mail: 993
Poort uitgaande e-mail: 465
Versleuteling: SSL

Instellingen Gmail - Mail importeren

Voer onderstaande stappen uit om je webmail te synchroniseren met Gmail en ervoor te zorgen dat je ook vanuit datzelfde mailadres kunt antwoorden.

1. Maak eerst bij Surver een nieuw webmail account aan. Mocht je al een mailaccount actief hebben dan kun je direct door naar stap 2.

2. Log in op je account bij Gmail. Klik daarna rechtsboven op het Tandwiel. Klik daarna op Alle instellingen bekijken.

3. Klik daarna op het tabblad Accounts

4. Klik daarna op E-mailberichten en contacten importeren

Als je via Gmail ook mail wilt verzenden vanuit dit mailadres dan kun je dat ook instellen. In deze stap zorg je ervoor dat Gmail gebruik maakt van de Surver mailserver om uitgaande mail te versturen. Dit is zeker aan te raden omwille van de SPAM-gevoeligheid. Daarnaast ziet de ontvanger ook niet dat je mail via Gmail verstuurd wordt.

Ophalen e-mail

Gmail check automatisch om de zoveel tijd of er nieuwe mails zijn binnengekomen op je account. Komt er veel mail binnen op je account, dan zal Gmail ook vaker nieuwe mails ophalen. In het geval je nog weinig mails ontvangt kan het dus eventjes duren voordat nieuwe mails zichtbaar zijn in je Gmail account. Mocht je zelf willen checken er er nieuwe mails zijn binnengekomen, kun je ook op het cirkelvormige icoon klikken onder de zoekbalk om het ophalen van nieuwe mail te forceren.
